EMF Model 621175 is a very low phase noise oscillator at 630 MHz, with a second output at 70 MHz. The unit is locked to a very stable low noise 10 MHz external reference oscillator. Two phase locked loops are used; the first loop locks an internal low noise 70 MHz VCXO to the external 10 MHz reference, and the second loop locks the 630 MHz coaxial resonator oscillator to the 70 MHz
VCXO. By selecting the proper bandwidth for each loop the best overall phase noise is obtained. The first loop bandwidth is selected where the multiplied noise (+17 db) of the 10 MHz reference oscillator is greater than the 70 MHz oscillator phase noise at that offset frequency. The second loop bandwidth is selected where the multiplied noise (+19 db) of the 70 MHz internal oscillator noise is higher than the 630 MHz coaxial resonator output oscillator at that offset frequency. EMF has designed and built many phase locked oscillators. This model is shown because of the exceptional low phase noise and the popular frequencies of 70 MHz and 630 MHz.
