This ruggedized synthesizer was developed for a tropo-scatter communications system. The design had to meet the small step size and low noise specifications in a package suitable for use from the jungle to offshore oil platforms, all at a cost low enough to make it commercially feasible.
The design is flexible and robust enough to be adapted for a wide variety of applications.
