EMF Model 96805 is a design for use in Synthesizers and Phase-locked Loops. The example of phase noise shown on the following plot is for this unit at 200 MHz; in order to plot the phase noise for each multiple of 200 MHz, add 20 log N in db where N = Frequency Desired 200 MHz The 200 Mhz Crystals in this unit are screened for good phase noise and tunability. The tuning must be adequate to overcome frequency drift over temperature and to insure that the loop maintains lock. The SMA connector is removable, allowing the unit to be surface mounted. A solder pin is used to obtain a sample of the 200 MHz VCXO; the other solder pins are feedthrough filter types. This model, as most EMF units, is engraved to withstand the most severe environments.
